Inside the Wild offers us forty-three first-hand stories about hunting, wildlife, and wilderness that are written in the tradition of William Faulkner's hunting stories like The Bear.
Inside the Wild tells the truth about hunting in a hard-edged way. After people read this book, thirty million hunters in North America won't be able to hide in the woods anymore.
Inside the Wild takes you inside the brutal, fascinating and disappearing wilderness of Ontario, which is a world that most people know little or nothing about. It takes you inside the lives of the animals that live there and inside the minds and rituals of the men and dogs that return to hunt there each year. People who read this book will discover that part of that world still exists inside each of them.
It was entertaining enough with anecdotes that
would stop me reading to think. What more can a
reader ask from any book?
Ken Allen,Maine Sportsman Magazine
Hunters with a strong respect for the traditional aspects
of the activity will enjoy this book. It chronicles what hunting
in Ontario is all about and how it influences us.
Matt Nicholls, Ontario Out of Doors
I always love a good read about the outdoors but I
have to admit to not being able to put this one down.
Chris Hockley, Outdoor Writers of Canada
Great writer. Great storyteller. This guy has talent.
Sports Afield / Safari Press
It is a fascinating story.
Kensington Publishing
The author's voice is clearly authentic as he romanticizes
an activity that is an integral part of his identity along with
that of his fellow hunters.
