A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a typographical error. The downside of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam email messages, but this problem can be rectified using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also important to keep in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

Creating a catch-all email mailbox will be very easy in case you’ve got a cloud hosting plan with our company. You can enable the feature through our powerful, albeit user-friendly Email Manager tool, which is part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your account. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you have set up listed in alphabetical order and on the right side of each one there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly reveal to you whether a particular mailbox stores all the email messages pertaining to a given domain name or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option whenever you like. In case there is activated email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain name, you will get a warning text message from our system. The latter won’t replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with every semi-dedicated server package that we offer will permit you to create a catch-all email mailbox without any difficulty even if you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox that you’ve created with your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will notify you if you have already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding activated. If you decide that you don’t need this feature any longer, you can remove it by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
